What are C9 non-hydrogenated tackifiers used for?

C9 tackifiers are thermoplastic resins used in pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA), hot-melt adhesives, rubber compounding, and bitumen modification for road marking and roofing applications.

Non-hydrogenated C9 resins retain aromatic double bonds, giving them darker color (amber to brown) and lower UV stability than hydrogenated grades. They’re cheaper and suitable when color isn’t critical.

C9 tackifiers are available in various softening points typically ranging from 80-140°C. The choice depends on application: lower softening points for PSA, higher for hot-melt and road marking.
