CAS number 77-73-6
Dicyclopentadiene, abbreviated DCPD, is the dimer of cyclopentadiene (CPD). In the pure state DCPD is a volatile solid with a characteristic odour. Dicyclopentadiene is coproduced in large quantities in the steam cracking of naphtha and gas oils to ethylene. In addition, it can be prepared in a Diels-Alderreaction of 2 cyclopentadiene molecules.
Most dicyclopentadiene is used as co-monomer in the production of synthetic resins, in particular unsaturated polyesters and synthetic rubbers, for example EPDM. Poly (DCPD), which contains some dicyclopentadiene as monomer is used in printing inks and engineering plastics.

Pentanols – 99% (Isoamyl Alcohol)
Isoamyl Alcohol (at a minimum purity of 99%), is a mixture of isomers 3-methyl, 1-butanol and 2-methyl , 1-butanol, with a preponderance of the first (aproximately 85%). The raw material used by PETROM in the production of Isoamyl Alcohol is fusel oil, which in turn is a byproduct of the distilling of ethyl alcohol (ethanol).
Applications: The main applications of Isoamyl Alcohol are:
– the manufacturing of paints and varnishes, to produce isoamyl acetate;
– the manufacturing of plasticizers for the production of DIAP (DiisoAmyl phthalate);
– the manufacturing of perfumes, for the recovery of oils and essences;
– the synthesis of fragrances and aromas;
– the production of isoamyl salicylate, applied widely in soaps and cosmetic fragrances;
– the purification of phosphoric acid, acting as an extraction solvent.
– the production of Xanthates (mining industry)

///
CAS number 67-63-0
Isopropyl alcohol, also known as isopropanol or IPA, is a colorless, flammable liquid with a strong odor. It is a common solvent with a wide range of applications in industry, healthcare, and household settings.
One of the primary uses of isopropyl alcohol is as a cleaning agent and disinfectant. It is often used to clean electronic devices, medical equipment, and other surfaces that require sterilization. It is also used in the production of hand sanitizers, surface disinfectants, and other cleaning products.
Isopropyl alcohol is also commonly used as a solvent in the production of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and other consumer products. It can dissolve a wide range of substances, making it a versatile ingredient in many formulations.
In addition, isopropyl alcohol is often used as a fuel additive, as it can help improve the performance of gasoline engines by reducing the formation of deposits and improving fuel efficiency.
However, isopropyl alcohol can be hazardous if not handled properly. It is flammable and should be stored and handled in a well-ventilated area away from sources of ignition. Direct contact with skin or inhalation of vapor can also cause irritation, so appropriate precautions should be taken when using this substance.
Overall, isopropyl alcohol is a versatile and widely used solvent with a range of applications in industry, healthcare, and household settings. Its ability to dissolve a wide range of substances and its effectiveness as a cleaning agent and disinfectant make it an essential component of many products and formulations.

Contact usMethyl Isobutylene Carbinol (MIBC)
EINECS number 203-551-7
///
CAS number 108-11-2
Methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) is a clear, colorless liquid with a mild, sweet odor. It is a type of alcohol that is primarily used as a frother in mineral flotation processes.
MIBC is commonly used in the mining industry as a frother to help separate valuable minerals from unwanted minerals. During the flotation process, MIBC is added to the mineral slurry to create a froth that rises to the top, allowing the desired minerals to be separated from the unwanted minerals. MIBC is particularly effective in frothing sulfide ores, such as copper, lead, and zinc.
MIBC is also used as a solvent in the production of perfumes, paints, and other chemical products. It is a relatively non-toxic and non-corrosive compound, making it a useful alternative to other solvents that may be more harmful or damaging.
However, like all chemicals, MIBC can pose health risks if not handled properly. It is important to follow proper safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and ensuring proper ventilation, when working with MIBC or any other chemical.
