PM (propylene glycol methyl ether) is used as a primary solvent in printing and writing inks, paints and coatings, and as a paint stripper component. It’s also used as an antifreeze additive in diesel fuel.

PM can be added to diesel fuel as an anti-gelling agent at low temperatures. This niche application takes advantage of PM’s ability to disrupt wax crystal formation that causes diesel to gel in winter.

PM is a propylene glycol ether (P-series), which means it’s not classified as reprotoxic unlike ethylene glycol ethers (E-series) like methyl cellosolve. This makes PM safer for workers and simpler to formulate.

PM is supplied in drums (200L), IBCs (1000L), and isotanks. Minimum order is typically one IBC (1000L). PM is a high-volume product with good availability and short lead times.
